The B & M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music was founded as a non-profit Foundation for the public good in 2004 and ratified by presidential decree. It is situated opposite the Hellenic Parliament in the cultural, political and commercial heart of Athens.

The B & M Theocharakis Foundation is primarily concerned with music and the fine arts, both in Greece and internationally, with a focus on the emergence of the Modern and its continued development over the 20th and the 21st century.

The Foundation aims to encourage the public to enter into a wide-range and interdisciplinary dialogue with music and the visual arts, to promote the work of Greek artists abroad, to employ every means at its disposal to disseminate the content of its activities, and to develop networks facilitating collaboration and exchange.

The Foundation seeks to achieve its aims by staging periodical exhibitions, concerts, lectures, seminars and other activities. It also sponsors educational and academic research, along with programs and studies of relevance to its aims.

Special emphasis is placed on attracting younger visitors, familiarising them with music and the visual arts, cultivating their aesthetic sensibilities and making them feel at ease in a museum context.

At the same time, the Foundation’s facilities include a 165-seat auditorium for a range of multi-purpose events, such as concerts, cultural events, lectures, theatre performances, as well as corporate events.

In addition, the Foundation houses a beautiful Cafe overlooking the National Garden, as well as a unique roof garden with stunning views of the Acropolis, the Parliament and Lycabettus.

We will be happy to welcome you to our premises and organise special events on your behalf.
